We Can Treat The Cancer, But Can We Care For The Survivors?.
Managing the health needs of people who have survived invasive cancer deserves more attention.
With 20 years behind me since my own lymphoma treatment it is clear that no-one is particularly interested in the emotional toll surviving brings.
So right you are, and sad it is. Like our elderly, (at least in North America) we shuffle them off to homes so we don’t have to worry about them. Who really takes care of the mind after trauma? And what you went through is most certainly in that category. I hope all is well for you now, though I am sure the worry is still predominant every day.
Cheers,
Amma
